It started with early repeated exposure to Maurice Sendak’s Peacock from the Pacific Northwest Ballet’s Nutcracker. I had a video of it as a kid and actually wore a hole in the tape. Specifically, the part of the tape that had the Coffee/Arabian number:

Note the floor length tail.

I decided to use feathers, and it turns out they are a lot heavier en masse than I thought they’d be. Here’s my take on the concept:

Did I mention that I just got off a plane from Tokyo a couple of days ago and haven’t unpacked, much less re-packed for NJ yet? If I fall asleep on a pile of 8x10s and Digital Playground DVDs tomorrow, please wake me up… and buy my Fleshlight.
